Choosing Your Supplements Wisely

Which Nutritional Supplements are Best?

Wow, That is a tough one. So many to choose from. Where to begin? It seems that every store you enter has supplements...grocery, superstores, dollar stores, pharmacies and I had to laugh but I was in a hardware store the other day and low and behold, they had an energy product displayed for sale on the front counter. And of course when you add health food stores and the nutritional catalogs that come delivered to your door, it can certainly be confusing.

How can you be certain that what you are getting is a high quality product, is not full of fillers and additives and will actually affect your body in a positive way, as it is supposed to do? Since the government does not regulate the potency of natural supplements, you have no guarantee that a product you buy has any actual bodily activity. Sad to say but some manufacturers market natural supplements that, when analyzed, have few or no active constituents. Most recently a very popular juice product came under scrutiny and when taken apart in an independent laboratory did not weigh up to it's claims.

Here are some other ways to be sure you get good, efficacious, safe products.
Buy from a Reputable Company. Know your source. How long have they been in the industry. What is their track record (good and bad). Since the industry is fairly unregulated, choose products made by large, reputable companies that have been in business a long time and have a lot to lose by putting out questionable or inferior products. Many of the excellent products increasingly found on American shelves originate in foreign countries, notably Germany and France, because they set a very high standard on their products.

Check the Label
Your best guarantee of potency is to look for the word "standardized" on the label. This tells you that the product consistently contains a certain percentage of a specific chemical, which, in most cases, has been shown to be or is suspected to be the most active nutritional agent. They usually more expensive, but generally worth it.

Consider the Price?
Unfortunately cheapest is not always best. You do get what you pay for. It's true some natural products are overpriced for various reason. But in the realm of botanical products, the higher price often reflects higher quality. To get a higher quality product, without paying the "over the top" price tag...consider Manufacturer Direct to Consumer" a very new business model that allows people purchase higher quality products, skipping the middleman. This removes an entire layer of cost. This savings is then passed along to the consumer.

Look for quality natural supplements, herbal supplements and other healthcare items from Trusted Sources. For more information on Nutritional products you can feel good about, visit: http://www.DrinkACT.com/2getenergy
